The atmosphere was peaceful, Ming Ming was very pleasant, the sushi rolls were excellent and very reasonably priced. The salmon sashimi was like butter, the ming ming roll was huge and had great flavor. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great sushi place.

Tasty sushi for reasonable prices. The "café" has plenty of seating and you may also buy different types of teas, cups and tea kettles. This is a great place to stop for lunch or have a take-out. I wouldn't go there for Friday evening though.

No frills sushi or dinning, but it's fast, cheap, and tasty. The hot green tea on the menu is better than average too.

I had their Boba and one of their sushi combination dishes. The boba was tasty and enjoyed the strawberry flavored milk tea. The sushi was tasty except for the Tuna Nigiri. It did not taste like the Tuna I am use to in sushi. It was a lighter color and not as tasteful. It might have been frozen too long or something. Other than the tuna, a great experience with a nice environment. I will probably be back to try more of their items! Note: It is kind of hidden as you drive along central and is next to Britannia Arms (the British pub).

This place is a hidden gem! The location is kind of far from everything and I wish it was closer DTSP... But well, I tried it and I loved their sushi! Really soft and delicious. I had Salmon-Mango and BBQ Eel sushi, and Miso soup. I also liked their Honeydew Milk tea and Mango Milk tea with Almond Milk. Pros: - Their sushi are really fresh and juicy (no dryness going on, no frozen fish) - Prices are really good - 2 sushi rolls (16 pieces) for $7.49 - wow! - DELICIOUS!!! - Tasty Boba teas for $2.99. They offer almond milk if you do not like dairy milk - Nice seating, plenty of tables - The owners are very friendly and nice - Parking right in front - They also sell tea, cups, etc. - Their Miso soup was cheap and so good! Cons: - Boba teas were little too sweet for my taste. I would get half sweet next time. I always order half sweet but forgot to do it this time. Update: Boba tea prices went up to $3.49.

Went there today with a friend and small child for lunch. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Ordered the veggie combo #2. It was yummy! Would recommend this place to everyone! Very sweet staff. Thank you!

Came here for an early dinner the other night. The miso soup was good, but I was disappointed there was no tofu and instead what appeared to be small pieces of bread. We ordered a sushi combo and a Mexican roll as well as mango boba milk teas. The sushi was super tasty and fresh. I found the rolls to be very fairly priced as well. They also do free dessert with combos on Mondays. The staff were very friendly and the service was quick. I'll definitely be back to check it out again in the future.

The first time I walked into MingMing Tea Cafe I was unsure what I would find, but I was excited deep down. Was it another selection of mediocre teas and such that you would find at the mall or the epic motherload?? I was so pleasantly surprised by what I found. It ended up being a wide variety of fabulous organic teas from China. Not just anywhere in China, but sourced from MingMings (the owner) family farm. Whatever wasn't from her families farm was sourced from the surrounding area of china with the utmost discretion. I have loved tea since I was a child, having a mix of asian and British Colonial influences I have developed a great varietal palate that MingMings Tea Cafe can only satisfy. No more mall tea for me!! PuEhr Teas galore, light young white and green teas, and herbal chrysanthemum teas to make your soul warm. I have replaced my ENTIRE tea cabinet with tea from this shop. I would highly recommend you walk in and talk to the owners who will imbue you with knowledge of their teas and more, which they are very passionate about. Not only is the tea amazing but they have a great little sushi bar where you can order a quick delicious meal, as well as Boba Tea! :) Come in and check them out with a pot of tea, you will be glad you did.

Ming Ming Tea Cafe, located next to the restaurant Alesia in a strip mall, sells all kinds of teas from all over the world as well as accessories. They also offer sushi and desserts. I ordered a mango boba tea. The taste was good and the boba was the right texture but I was kind of surprised that they used powders for their boba tea, instead of the real thing since that's what they specialize in. So it was a little bit of a disappointment. I guess I was expecting to have tea that Ming Ming herself picked out from high above a mountaintop in China. Maybe that's only with the hot teas. Oh well... The cafe is clean - nothing fancy - plenty of seating and like I mentioned, all kinds of teas and tea accessories to check out. The service was above average, the prices low (note that it's cash only under $5). Worth checking out if tea is your...cup of tea.

I went in for a pick up lunch, and picked this place because it had boba as well as sushi! The reviews are all pretty good, so why not? First the place is bright insidr and the cashier was very nice. Offered me to make my drink first so i can enjoy while i waited for them to makr my sushi. I got the mango smoothie boba and it was pretty good. This is NOT a fresh fruit smoothie but it was still good. Thr boba was chewy and sweet. There sushi was pretty good, rice was fragrant. Tasted fresh. The green dragon roll was my favorite, very clean tasting and the friend onions were a perfect touch. I never had fried onions on a sushi before. The rolls are rolled a little looser then how i like mine to be wrapped. The hawaiian roll? It was also very good flavor to it, I would recommend! Only 4 stars because it wasnt the best i had and it was by no means worst or even bad! Boba was a plus. Please dont be the lady who asked if they have salad....

I love this place the sushi is perfect specially Sunset Blvd Roll. They also have nice tea collection and tea pots that just like Teavana Tea but very cheaper! I highly recommend Mingming Cafe go there for early dinner.

I've been to many sushi places here in the Bay Area and I would say out of all of them, Ming Ming Tea Cafe by far has the most affordable sushi selection. Not only does it come with a great price but you're also eating the freshest kind of ingredients being used. The owners, Greg and Ming Ming use non-farm raised fish and take pride in the importance of quality. I definitely can taste the difference in quality when I try their rolls. I'd say it beats out other sushi places selling their rolls at comparable or even more expensive prices. Just think, it's cheaper than Publix's sushi and, on top of that, made ten times better! I've also tried their green tea cheesecake. The matcha in this desert is very subtle and doesn't overpower your taste buds. It's a nice balance of creamy and fresh. Check this place out. It's low in price and high in quality, two ingredients that mesh VERY well together.

Outstanding service and fresh sushi for a great price! We wee served by the owner who was meticulous and very friendly. Don't pass up this gem of a tea cafe and sushi bar. Great for lunch or dinner. Highly recommend this for both locals and tourists!

I find myself at Ming Ming Tea at least twice a week because of the fresher than fresh food and the exceptional service. Their Chinese tea selection is easily the freshest and highest grade tea in the area with prices so low your jaw will drop. What makes their products so unique is that the tea comes directly from the owner's family farm in China, you can even see pictures of her on the wall picking the tea herself. Their sushi is made fresh to order with wild caught fish, not the low grade farm raised fish seen at other places. Their boba is great for the price and can be made with almond milk. You can definitely tell that the owners pay great attention to quality (they even deep fry their tempura in olive oil! ). The owners are so sociable and have become like family. Their green tea cheesecake is out of this world and their shrimp tempura roll is to die for (and under $5.00!). The environment is also very fresh, bright, and most importantly SPARKLING CLEAN. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for fresh tea, sushi, or boba.

Searching for sushi tonight I ran across this place yelping and boy am I glad I did! Upon entering I was greeted by a man and woman behind the counter whom I assume are husband and wife by the pleasantries exchanged. This place is one part tea shop, one part sushi bar. It's actually kind of cool to browse the various Chinese teas available while waiting for your food. They have a modest sushi menu, no super creative stuff, but a nice selection. Where it sticks out though is that it is full of combination meals of sushi rolls, sushi, and sashimi that are very reasonably priced. They also serve up a variety of different Teas and boba tea as well. I decided to go for the three roll combo for $9.99 which is the price of a single roll at some places. I wasn't expecting much since it was so cheap, but wow... It was delicious! The fish was so fresh and it melted in my mouth! I got the salmon avocado roll, the BBQ eel roll, and the spicy Tuna. And even better was that the menu says there are 6 pieces to a roll, but it is actually 8 and they even threw in an iced tea while I waited. I told the gentleman behind the counter that I'm new in town and that I've been craving sushi lately. He told me he hoped to see me back. I don't think he'll have to worry about that. I'll be a regular! And I can't wait to try the boba tea. Fantastic little place. Happy to support them.

Very pleased with our first time at this establishment. The servers were very friendly and sat us as soon as we arrived. The place itself was on the smaller side but expected from a small dining place. The atmosphere was nice, there was tea sets and teas decorating the place so you do feel a sense of authenticity eating here. We ordered boba teas and came out delicious, I recommend their watermelon boba tea. Their specials for sushi was nice as you can order 3 rolls of sushi for 9.99. Each roll contained 8 pieces so you do get your money's worth. The wife and I both ordered the 9.99 special so a total of 48 pieces arrived on our table. They were small pieces but the fact that you get 3 rolls were enough to fill the normal joe. The servers, Tony and Ming, came to us often and made sure we had enough water and everything tasted ok. Overall our visit was very pleasing and we will definitely be back here when we are around the area.

I love their 3 rolls for $10 special. Cheapest ive seen anywhere in st pete. And the sushi is pretty good. I also tried their boba tea, very tasty. Really cute restaurant; it's got a nice homey feel. Will definitely be going back!

Wow I can't wait to return and try more of the rolls and boba! I had the salmon and avocado roll with spring rolls and seaweed salad. Everything is made fresh when order by Ming Ming and served to the table by either her or her husband. The salmon was super fresh and the avocado was perfectly ripe. I loved that the roll wasn't heavy on the rice so you could really taste everything. The spring rolls were served hot and crispy with a delightful sauce. The side of seaweed salad was larger than I expected so I had some left over to take home for an afternoon snack. I also had a Thai coffee that was outstanding! Many times Thai coffee can be super sweet and you lose that great strong coffee flavor. I love my coffee and I can see myself stopping in at least once a week just to pick it up. I love the open and warmth of the space. This is a great place to relax and enjoy some tea and or some sushi. The price is great for everything but they have some great combo prices.

Just ok sushi. Went here because it seemed cheap and got high ratings. I think the high marks must be for the boba tea because the nigiri and rolls were pretty light on fish.

My best friend and I went to Ming Ming last week. We both love boba and sushi, so we were super excited to try it. We got the 2 roll combo with a spicy tuna and avocado cucumber. She got strawberry boba with almond milk (but no boba because she's weird like that) and I got watermelon boba. It was all AMAZING. Can't beat the prices there at all! Heading back with some friends on Sunday!

AMAZING sushi! I got the Volcano Roll (a bit on the spicy side, but full of flavor, and very filling)! This place is a hidden gem and would suggest it to anyone!

Took a chance tonight with this spot. Was a little worried when I pulled into the lot at about six and the place was empty. Well, sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith. Glad we did! What a pleasant surprise. The place was spotless, tastefully decorated, and cozy. Staff was friendly, service was great, and the meal was fantastic. Sushi was made quickly and presented nicely. The sashimi and sushi rolls were some of the best I have had and have had some great sushi in just about every major city in the U.S. Give this place a try you will be pleasantly surprised.

First time stopped in. I saw the boba tea sign and thought that sounded nice after a day at the beach. I went to pay and the guy berated me about trying to pay with card. I told him I didn't have any cash and didn't see the sign about $5 minimum for cards. He went on to say he should just go to cash only. He ton the card in the end after making me feel really uncomfortable. Good tea but he made it a bad experience and I won't be back.

This little cafe is such a sweet surprise to find. Delicious boba tea, and equally good sushi made fresh. The couple operating the business is accommodating and knowledgeable in tea and has guides on how to properly brew. Very reasonable pricing. Will be back! I loved it!

Pleasantly surprised with this small place. Went there based on YELP review and I agree that this place is well worth a try for their sushi. Impeccably clean and not crazy busy. Owners were very friendly, helpful and informative about their main product- tea. My salmon sashimi was absolutely delicious. We were directed to the three roll special and you can't beat the price We felt satiated. Enjoyed their hot Jasmine green tea. Overall good experience and I plan on returning.

Its hard to complain about something that is very affordable because your expectations are lowered. Simple sushi menu equivalent to what you can get at your local Publix but the prices are better and the sushi is fresher than what you can at a grocer. Even though the sushi menu is simplified, it still took around 20 minutes to get our sushi. But you don't mind waiting because you can enjoy a cup of authentic china tea or serve yourself to the beer cooler. I think this is a great lunch spot but for dinner the ambiance is lacking.

Amazing!!!! The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic!!! We found this while at the end of our spring break and still managed to go twice. We have kids that are new to sushi but wanted to try it, and the price was great so we thought we'd go for it. It was fantastic!!! Our favorites (remember we're new to this so don't have a lot of experience trying different things): Califorina Roll, Shrimp Roll and Spicy Tuna Roll (the 1st time we had the tuna roll the kids loved it, the 2nd time it was a bit too spicy for us). We will definitely be making this a regular stop on future spring breaks and our kids are still talking about it. Try it! You won't regret it!

At first glance, Ming Ming Tea does not seem like the type of place to garnish a lot of stars; there doesn't seem to be much to the shop at all. However, they have one of the more unusual organic tea selections in the Tampa Bay Area, including some hard-to-find aged varieties that you usually don't see (but no trendy flavored black teas). What they have is a variety of high end, Chinese teas, and everything I've tried has been extremely fresh (which is great). This is hardly a surprise, as the wife's family owns a tea plantation. They also have clay pots and sets, Kahwa coffee, boba tea and a few little pastries. The proprietors are extremely knowledgeable and will let you sniff and sample, and they've indicated that they will soon expand their offerings (they've only just recently opened). If you are a tea drinker, you will find the shop to be worth a visit, especially for the Chinese teas that are rarely seen in the states. They are a standout purely for their specialized tea selection, as the cafe itself is set up very simply with a very limited menu of food.

I decided to try this place out after reading so many great reviews and I'm glad I did because the sushi and boba milk tea were delicious!!! I eat a lot of sushi and this by far had to be the best. The rolls are small but they pack soo much flavor! I will definitely be returning when I come back to FL!!

Went in today had tea for days, plenty of room to sit and eat even a little lounge area. I got the mango boba tea, which was amazing. Can't wait to go back tomorrow and try a sushi roll. My only negative is I wish the had smoothies!

  • Rachel E.

The owners are very friendly and very knowledgeable about tea. They care a lot about the quality of the tea and where it comes from. There's even pictures of them on the walls going directly to the tea plantations! They let you sample anything in the store, which is great if you want to try before you by. They also vacuum seal the tea instead of scooping it from a tin like a lot of other stores do, which is great for freshness. Be warned that this is a more traditional tea store, and not quite a "cafe" type setting that you see other tea places have. This place also has a very interesting location in a strip mall. I'll also admit that the huge signs advertising "Dr Oz" and "Weight Loss Tea" are a little tacky, but the store inside is definitely worth checking out.

  • Dice C.

Great little place. Usually not many people and never a wait but the food is great. Not too expensive. Took my wife a three sushi-devouring daughters and it was only $62 including 4 boba teas. Can't beat that. Get over there and they them!

Great service!! The husband is extremely friendly. Sushi is great and great prices! Green tea cheesecake was made fresh. Wife is from Japan and has a tea farm, very knowledgable about teas.

Amazing sushi and boba tea. We were very satisfied. We got the teriyaki roll, shrimp tempura, and cooked salmon roll. The boba tea is really milky and delicious. The wait for our food was not too long and the price was worth it. I would definitely come back the next time I vacation here!

This café is great! Delicious boba teas and great sushi rolls. The inside is bright and clean and the owners are friendly and knowledgeable. They also have a wonderful selection of high quality Chinese loose leaf teas to brew at home as well as any teapots, mugs, or tea storage containers you may need.

  • Sheena M.

Loved it! The sushi is so fresh! They buy the fish fresh and debone and slice it in house. The boba was also very good- the perfect texture and amount of sweetness! And it's the most affordable sushi place I have been for the quality you get. Highly recommend!!!

After reading a few reviews on Yelp I decided to take the drive to visit MingMing Tea Cafe. Being a boba fan, and pretty open to trying new things, have read that Mango milk tea is the flavor of choice. When I heard the almond milk option I was ecstatic! MingMing and her husband take their time in creating each and every drink to perfection. MingMing spends a good hour cooking the tapioca to a perfect consistency: not too hard and not too soft...just right. Mango milk tea with pearls was an excellent choice. I will be back try out out more flavors and most definitely will try their sushi.

We decided to try it out after reading the reviews and we were not disappointed at all. The sushi menu is very simple, inexpensive but delicious. These are not sushi rolls topped with pounds of ingredients and sauces to the point were you don't taste anything else. What you get is fresh ingredients that leave you questioning if you ever really knew what good sushi is. We started with the best Miso soup and seaweed salad either of us have ever had. Then followed it up with four rolls: Dragon, Rainbow, BBQ eel and the chicken teriyaki rolls. They were all made perfectly. Not too much rice, everything very fresh and with great flavors. The owner explained to us that his wife, the sushi chef, used to work in her family's tea plantation in China and that they get teas from there. She also was trained as a sushi chef in Japan. We did not try the teas or the boba drinks this time but we will next time. He mentioned that he is working on selling Japanese beers, Saki and wines. If the freshness and quality of the food is any indication, then the drinks selection will be very good.

The food is fresh and the pricing is not bad at all. My husband and I ordered 3 rolls, a Thai tea boba and an order of the spring rolls. The ingredients are fresh and it's all prepared in front of you. It's run by a husband and wife team, who are very approachable and welcome you upon entrance. They have a lot of tea varieties there and offer free tea tastings daily. They have a table there that can accommodate a larger group. Their menu is not bad and the offerings will satisfy the palate. Considering it's by the beach, their pricing is more than reasonable. Our order alone came out to under $16. It filled myself and my husband up, since we planned on having a later dinner. You can call in the order ahead, so it's ready for pick up. The atmosphere there is very pleasant and welcoming. We will definitely be going back. All of their sushi is organic and very fresh. It doesn't look dehydrated or like mush, compared to what gets pumped put at other places. I would recommend it to my own family and friends. It makes for a great food stop after a day at the beach.

Somehow I thought it's in/near downtown St. Pete. It's in Pasadena area. Originally a tea joint, now expanded to include sushi. If you're a Chinese tea connoisseur, this might be the place for you. This is the only place that I know that has tea cakes. Food is of very good quality and made with attention and care. The person who makes the sushi also owns the place, and it seems she cares about what she makes. Great sushi, great price, very good tea.

Don't judge this book by its cover. Holy cow, the sushi is amazing and you get way more than even what is advertised. The great food coupled with the excellent guest service.... Yeah, I'm now a permanent patron. Also try the Taro bubble tea! Yum!

  • Anthony V.

This place is more impressive than people may understand. Fresh sushi and boba tea are one part of this shop, and the other is tea crops that are some of the finest. For example, I just visited last week and picked up some Silver Needle white tea that was just cropped this same year in April, it doesn't get much fresher than that unless you're in China! They also have pu-erh tea cakes and some teas you've probably never heard of! My favorite part of this place is that it sticks so close to tradition, their loose leafs are focused on purity versus flavor, which is hard to come by. If you're a fan of sushi, boba, or especially loose leaf teas do yourself a favor, pay this spot a visit and watch it become one of your favorites!!!

Their boba teas is amazing and so is there Japanese soda, the strawberry boba is yummy but my favorites are the kiwi and honeydew boba smoothies I go there a lot and the people who own are sweethearts

I came upon the Ming Ming Tea shop while running some errands. The place looked intriguing,so I popped in and ended up staying for over an hour sampling tea and talking with the owner,a pleasant fellow named Gregg, the husband of his Chinese wife whose family provides much of the teas for sale in their shop.Gregg is very knowledgeable about tea,and I learned quite a bit in my time chatting with him.I was also able to sample some of the teas, and I was blown away by the quality, this is not run of the mill tea like that being sold in grocery stores! The shop itself is well kept, very clean and well stocked with high quality teas, many of which cannot be found anywhere else.If you like tea,I highly recommend a trip here;you will leave with a better understanding of this delicious drink, and will come back for more,I know I will!

The owners are great people here and are fun to chat with. The sushi was made to order fresh and the prices are more than reasonable. It was the end of the day so they hooked us up with some free iced teas, a friendly touch. Definitely stop in if you're looking for sushi and/or exceptional Chinese teas.
